MORFOLOGIA 

 

Portamento e dimensioni: erbacea perenne, alta 20-100 cm.

 

Fusto:  fusti ascendenti, eretti, glabri

 

Foglie: foglie a lamina carenata larghe 4-6 mm con ligula fino a 10 mm.

 

Fiori: l’infiorescenza è un racemo di racemi di spighette (pannocchia) a 8-10 verticilli, spighette 3-5flore. Fiorisce da aprile a settembre.

 

Frutti e semi: i frutti sono cariossidi.

 

DISTRIBUZIONE E HABITAT

 

Presente in tutta Italia nei prati fertili e concimati, da 0 a 1.200 m con punte a 1.900 m.

Leaves: Leaves with keeled blade, 4-6 mm wide, with ligule up to 10 mm.

 

Flowers: The inflorescence is a raceme of spikelet racemes (panicle) with 8-10 whorls, spikelets with 3-5 flowers. Blooms from April to September.

 

Fruits and seeds: The fruits are caryopses.

 

DISTRIBUTION AND HABITAT

 

Present throughout Italy in fertile and fertilized meadows, from 0 to 1,200 m with peaks at 1,900 m.
